Getting started
- Connect the diagnostic cable or VCI before starting diagnosis.
- Switch the vehicle ignition on.
- Use AutoVIN when supported, or select the vehicle manually.
- Run the required full-system scan, code read, live-data test, service function or active test supported by the device.
Compatibility and connection
BMM V2.0 covers supported BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce models from approximately 1996 onward. Standard 16-pin OBD2 is used on most 2001-and-newer BMW applications.
Software updates
Keep the scanner software current before troubleshooting a missing vehicle or function. Update method depends on the model: button-operated V2/V3 devices use a Windows PC / USB or TF-card workflow, while CR MAX tablets receive lifetime updates over Wi-Fi.
Troubleshooting
AutoVIN does not identify the vehicle
Use manual vehicle selection and confirm the software is current. AutoVIN availability varies by make, model and ECU and a failed automatic identification does not by itself mean the scanner is faulty.
A listed service or active-test function is missing
Function coverage is vehicle- and ECU-specific. A function available on the product family is not necessarily exposed by every model year or control unit.
A fault code returns after clearing
Record freeze-frame and relevant live data before clearing. An active underlying fault can set the code again immediately and must be diagnosed rather than repeatedly erased.
Product and upgrade
Technical information is based on iCarsoft’s current product documentation and official user manual. Exact vehicle and function support varies by application.
