iCarsoft MB V3.0 at a glance
Getting started
- Locate the vehicle diagnostic connector. Most supported modern Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter, Smart and Maybach vehicles use the standard 16-pin OBD2 connector.
- Connect the MB V3.0 to the vehicle and switch the ignition on.
- Select the vehicle and diagnostic system from the scanner menu. Vehicle identification and available functions depend on the exact model, year and control unit.
- Run a system scan or enter the required control unit to read fault codes, live data or perform supported service and active-test functions.
Connection and vehicle compatibility
Examples of Mercedes-Benz models that may use the 38-pin connector
iCarsoft specifically lists older C-Class W202, E-Class W210, S-Class W140, CLK W208, SLK R170 and SL R129 vehicles among the models that may require the 38-pin adapter, depending on production year and connector type.

How to update the MB V3.0
The MB V3.0 uses a USB-based update process rather than Wi-Fi. iCarsoft provides lifetime free software updates for the device. Use the official user manual above for the device-specific update procedure and keep the scanner software current before troubleshooting coverage or communication problems.
What can the MB V3.0 do?

MB V3.0 troubleshooting
The scanner powers on but does not connect to the vehicle
Confirm that the vehicle is supported, the correct diagnostic connector or adapter is being used, the ignition is switched on and the scanner software is up to date. Older Mercedes-Benz and early Sprinter vehicles may require a separate legacy adapter.
A service or active-test function is missing
Function availability depends on the exact vehicle, model year, ECU and installed equipment. A function listed for the MB V3.0 does not automatically mean that every supported Mercedes-Benz model exposes that function.
Fault codes return after clearing
If a fault is still active, the code can return after clearing. Record relevant freeze-frame and live data before erasing codes and diagnose the underlying fault rather than treating code clearing as a repair.
MB V3.0 vs MB V4.0
The MB V3.0 remains a strong button-controlled scanner with full-system diagnostics, bidirectional tests and lifetime free updates. The newer MB V4.0 adds a 5-inch touchscreen, Android interface, Wi-Fi updating and two additional downloadable vehicle make groups.
